Sasha, a reclusive biologist, lives in the border town of Primorsk, isolated from the world and her conflicted relationship with her businesswoman mother. Her solitude at the biostation is disrupted by a meeting with 8-year—old Asya, a smiling schoolgirl whose notebooks are covered with disturbing drawings, and traces of beatings are hidden under her clothes.
