From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. John Lafia (April 2, 1957 - April 29, 2020) was an American film and television writer, director, and producer. He attended UCLA, where he received his Bachelors in Film. Lafia's first film was The Blue Iguana, which he wrote and directed. It was also screened out of competition at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival.
