Born in New York in 1946, Geoffrey Bowie Outlaw grew up in Greenwich Village and later in western Massachusetts. He attended elementary school and later at the Stockbridge School with longtime friend and Musician Arlo Guthrie. The two would act alongside one another in the 1969 film Alice's Restaurant as partners in crime who got caught dumping the garbage on Thanksgiving.
